Item1: President’s Report (Jessica G.):
“Happy Mardi Gras & Welcome to the first in-person, public meeting for 2025! Thanks to our Parisian Members, Will & Star & our VP, Jessica for the fun décor!”
A. Ad-Partnerships updates:
*BBLV: Ad-Partnerships updates:
BADFISH: This Friday, March 7th. The Google Form went out and a ‘like-tag-share’ Facebook contest for additional advertisements happened. The comp-list will be sent to BBLV on Wed., 3/5.
The forms for the late March events will go out this week: Melvin Seals/JGB, Jerry’s Middle Finger
The forms for the April events will go out by month’s end: BERTHA and JRAD
Will inquire about the upcoming: GOOSE (June 3rd), START MAKING SENSE (Talking Heads Tribute) (July 20th) partnerships.
*Made contact with The Smith Center (Spencer Patterson—Director of public relations) due to his sent inquiry on group sales for an upcoming jazz quartet (THE BAD PLUS) (March 22nd) that was advertised in an article on GRATEFUL WEB. (Declined our involvement at this time due to our busy Sphere/Shakedown Vegas events. Offered to share their info on our Social Media/Email blasts.)
B. Shakedown Vegas updates:
Some of the previously discussed items:
● Volunteer Google Form for MARCH’s 2-weekends of Volunteers went out last week. As of yesterday, 7 people have signed up to help. (2 officers, 2 committee heads, & 3 members). Form circulated during meeting.
● March is ‘Music in our Schools’ month – advertising this is a priority to encourage donated instruments our way and to schools. (Jessica G. to create a Flyer--later to be made into a poster-- to hang at Shakedown)
● Poker chips ordered by Paige. #300 – enough for #50 bags one day of each weekend. Expected delivery this week. Did not order Lighters, Rolling Papers, mini-Sunscreens, hand sanitizers, or pin. The ‘license plates’ have been ordered by Robert.
● Shakedown Vegas gives a gift bag to the Vendors (and possibly the ‘first 50-100’ arrivals)—What would we want to add to it (our LVJBS card, LVJBS sticker?) (Comic Book-Ads/Card sized have been ordered by Paige.)
● Smaller LVJBS vinyl banner - Jessica’s childhood Friend, Todd owner of King Printing, is donating our new 4’ x 4’ Banner & printing #100 3”x5” postcards for our Shakedown use. We will give website advertisement for his printing business in exchange.
● We discussed getting some larger posters made sharing ‘what we do’ so they are seen as people walk by: LVJBS helps get instruments for students in schools, LVJBS helps College-bound music majors with scholarships, LVJBS helps clean-up the community with Adopt-A-Highway, etc.
● Whom can we advertise with? 97.1 FM radio, maybe 91.5 FM with The Lyons Den. (Thoughts of phoning into ‘Tales from the Golden Road’ Sunday SiriusXM show soon—introducing our new Officers “That’s right—the women are smarter” & let the community know what we do and mention stopping by our table at the Shakedown Vegas weekends.)
C. For the 3.14 Pie HOMECOOKIN’ event:
*Smith’s Bakery: PIES were ordered last month. Jessica to follow up with them this Friday (the week prior) to confirm the order for the 100 pies & will pick them up on 3.14 afternoon.
D. Next ADOPT-A-HIGHWAY clean-up: Sunday, April 6th @ 9 AM.
Item 2: Vice President’s Report(Jessica P.):
A. Discussion regarding earlier start time for shows and diversifying venue locations. Venues to consider – Swan Dive, Jackpot, Soul Belly, SandDollar Plaza
Item 3: TREASURER’S REPORT (Paige):
● 2025 DUES/Member updates
Now, $10/mo. (Anyone who attends any of the 4 in-person meetings in 2025, can have a $5 (up to $20) discount off next year’s dues.)
● Comic Book Business Cards – ordered, ready in 2 weeks
● Scholarships – March 10 we receive applications, March 25 deadline to choose winner. We have three available credits resulting from the disqualification of previous winners.
● Liquid Blue – Paige to discuss with Robert in the next few weeks

PRODUCTION REPORT(Greg):
● HOMECOOKIN’ was booked by Nathan Grates for the LVJBS Quarter 1 SandDollar Collaboration for Friday, March 14th (3.14 = Pie Day)
● SHAKY FEELIN’ was confirmed for Friday, May 23rd –the LVJBS Quarter 2 SDLV Collaboration (Shaky Feelin’ added us as co-promotor for this event.)
● SPUNJ was booked by Nathan Grates (SandDollar LV) on Saturday, May 24th
● July-August will be our 3Q SandDollar LV event (possibly ‘All You Can eat Orchestra’ ) and November the thought for the 4Q event.
OPEN FLOOR (all):
*We want to thank those who have reached out (and/or donated) about our former Officer and LVJBS Member, Shannon, who recently lost her life after battling an illness. She is & will be missed. ‘Celebration of Life’ event in her honor is on April 5th from 2-6 PM at Garage Mahal. Potluckstyle/BYOB–more info TBA.
