President’s Report (Greg): “Okay, let’s start this thing!”

We’re continuing to work with the Brooklyn Bowl for advertising help/ticket raffle/comp exchange.  Upcoming shows which we will gladly assist with:

*Feb. 9th--Stick Figure with Twiddle & Iya Terra

*Feb. 13th—Lettuce

*Feb. 22nd-- Dark Star Orchestra

*March 27th—Galactic

TopGolf will contact us with any shows that we can assist them with. As of now, looks like the Friday, April 6th: Golden Gate Wingmen show.

Facebook ‘Events’ have been created to help promote their shows.  We are asking all Officers to help promote their shows on their pages, continue to ‘like & share’ others’ posts, etc.  We are also hoping to look into a ‘future’ “LVJBS presents” show.

“All is on track!”

Vice President’s Report (JT):

*We have 72 Paid 2017 members & 117 ‘Friends of LVJBS’ on our ‘books’

*28 members have paid their 2018 renewal dues.

Membership:

If paid by March 31st:

SINGLE membership:  $100 (savings of $20)

COUPLE membership (two members residing in the SAME household):  $150 (savings of $90)

MONTHLY:  $10 pd. by the 7th of each month, to be eligible for any raffles, etc.

**Members can get $5 credits—up to $20—for attending monthly meetings.  (Email sent to those who had 2017 attendance, with their ‘credit’ amount.

*Lotteries for tickets are posted 2 weeks before the event so members can purchase their own tickets, if not ‘won’ or those who ‘won’ and cannot attend can give the ‘runners-up’ some notice.

*Discussion of what to do with last year’s 2017 Calendars (which Relix magazine has inquired about not seeing this calendar-year!).  Thoughts are to ‘cut’ them apart, share the ‘photos’ at future events for guests to take home and enjoy.

*WildApricot fees will be increasing for 2018. An annual membership will be made for cost savings.

Treasurer’s Report (Paige):

*We had made $112 at the ‘Icicle Tricycle’ event’s raffle.  Jessica G. & a bar patron, Mike, won the two $25 Brooklyn Bowl Gift Cards and Lisa M. has the 2019 dues credit of $50. Also, the extra ‘Holiday Party’ Secret Santa gifts were given out.

*Don’t forget to add the Las Vegas Jam Band Society to your ‘Smith’s Grocery’ club card and utilize the LVJBS with the ‘AmazonSmiles’ page.   (Simply add the LAS VEGAS JAM BAND SOCIETY as the non-profit of your choice, when utilizing the Smith’s Grocery Rewards card and go to www.amazonsmiles.com when ordering anything through the ‘www.amazon.com’ site.)  (*A percentage of money spent automatically comes back the LVJBS’ way!)

Secretary’s Report (Jessica):

*Ordered additional bags via N*Dot.  The NEXT Adopt-A-Highway date will be on SUNDAY, MARCH 25th @ 10am.  No more than 2 hours.  Mark those calendars!

Mayor’s report (Eric F. absent):

Color (via Dan R.):   “Deep Rose Red”

*Dan will be using our PA/SoundSystem with the ‘PIRATE FEST’ team, on April 21 & 22 for their annual event.

PRODUCTION REPORT (Greg):

·          Joe Marcinek is working with “DEAD FUNK SUMMIT” and is wanting to get them booked in Las Vegas, Saturday, April 7th.  This line up would possibly have Tony Hall (Dumstaphunk & TAB), Alan Evan (Soullive), & Melvin Seals (JGB).  Due to the high ‘guarantee’/budget/need for hotel rooms, etc., a contact was made to Andrew at Vinyl (Hard Rock Hotel) and will be sent to TopGolf.  More details to be inquired (possible changes to the line-up) and more info TBD.

OPEN FLOOR:

*Don’t forget to support the Orange County Jam Band Society (OCJBS), in California.  They are having an awesome 3 day, Grateful Campout, with 15 bands for $99 festival in May—headliners:  GrooveSession, Cubensis, & others.  May 4th-6th.  We will share their event to our page. Any local musicians/bands with interest can contact them on their Facebook page, mentioning the LVJBS.    www.oc-musicfest.com for more info

*The Bender Jamboree, April 12-14th, at the Plaza Hotel, has now offered ‘music only’ rates for the 3 days of music for NV residents. They listened to our locals’ requests of ‘not’ needing hotel accommodations.  Now, the hopes for ‘single day’, local prices &/or the daily line-ups.  Hopefully more info on that TBA.

*The NEXT Adopt-A-Highway date will be on SUNDAY, MARCH 25th @ 10am.

*Ideas are needed for a future ‘Friends & Family’ event.  Some thoughts:  An upcoming Cashman Field soccer game (3 date options) or a Calico Basin pot-luck, nature hikes, picnic-type day trip.   Anyone wanting to help plan this future event, please contact an Officer or come to March’s LVJBS meeting.
