Meeting Start: 7:00 PM
Location: The Phoenix Bar’s Patio
Attendees: Johnnie T., Paige T., Jessica G., Greg S., Kathy G., Fred G., Basia Y, Stephen Y., Angela C., Shannon S.
Item 1: President’s Report (Johnnie): “Okay, I’d say it’s about time!”
A. A big ‘thank you’ to Greg for leading the Savers’ FUNDrive. (More info below in the VP’s report.)
B. Before year’s end, we are hoping to ensure the ‘procedural things’ are in place, according to the Bi-Laws. We will ensure that the monthly meetings are held for the elected Officers and Committee heads and the Members’ meetings are taking place quarterly. At the December 2023 meeting, we will review the Bi-Laws and give a refresher to those who may need it and share its info with the new elected Officers. We will also ensure a review of each Officers’ duties is had (e.g. Current President has been handling the Tech needs (emails of events, etc.), Social Media Chair to handle the Twitter, IG, Facebook announcements, etc.)
C. Officer Elections for 2024: Prior to tonight’s meeting, the nominations for the Offices were as follows: President (4), Vice President (7), Treasurer (2), Secretary (4), & Mayor (12).
An email with the required duties will be sent to the Nominees on November 15th, asking for the acceptance/denial of the position by Nov. 17th so the ballots can be sent to the dues paying members to place their votes.
D. Spoke again with Michelle Harris at the Pioneer Saloon. They have welcomed us to choose a future date (Nov./Dec.) for one of their 12 PM- 4 PM events where a ‘specialty drink’ will be advertised and those who purchase it, will help raise monies for the LVJBS—a portion of the drink’s proceeds will come back to the LVJBS. (An email will the upcoming bands’ names will be sent to the LVJBS Team Page for us to decide which event to host. We will need a few representatives to help share the info about what the LVJBS does and mention our fundraiser beverage while there.) More details TBD.
E. The ‘Corporate Sponsor Brochure’ is currently getting printed through VistaPrint & will be sent out to possible Sponsors shortly after.
F. Rockstars of Tomorrow has recently been introduced to us by Marissa Hollenback (via Tiffany Belcher) to help them gain sponsorship of musicians to assist their young musicians as they begin their musical journeys. We hope to learn more about their program in 2024 to assist them, as needed.
G. Our LVJBS TEAM page is one that the Current Officers and Committee Heads will use to share info/behind the scenes discussions. (We need to ensure all members who need to be on it, remains on the page. It looks like a member was accidently removed?)
