Zappos Free Cardboard Boat Building Classes

Zappos is having 2 FREE Boat Building classes for the Zappos Cardboard Regatta at their campus, 400 Stewart Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89101 on March 7th from 10am to 4pm and Mar. 15th, from 10 am to 4pm. Classes are open all day so you can come at any time.  You can build your boat there on both dates, store it, and we will transport it to Lorenzi Park on Thursday April 7th. Or take it home to work on it. We have FREE supplies (while they last); cardboard, duct tape and glue. You can come to Pirate Fest and work on your boat at Lorenzi Park, Thurs. Fri. and Sat April 7-9th to put the final touches on it before Sunday’s race, or if you are confident, you can build a boat at the event in 3 days.  Register today ….. and come see what floats yer boat!!!!

This year is the 3rd Annual Cardboard Regatta sponsored by Zappos!! What is a Cardboard Regatta?  You build a ship (or other floaty thing) out of cardboard using your imagination, duct tape, glue and some paint, then GET IN IT, and race it across the lake at Lorenzi Park, Sunday, April 10, at 12pm during Pirate Fest! Sponsored by Zappos, there is no fee to enter your “ship” in the Regatta, so register today, start building tomorrow! There will be special, one of a kind trophies for the Fastest Time, Most Creative and the Davy Jones Award (for the best sinking!!!)

The Regatta is an excellent Team Building or just a Family Fun activity! Unique to the Zappos’ Regatta is the Personal Challenge. You can challenge another participant. Challenge another department at work, another class, a competitor, even challenge a neighbor! It does not matter where you fall in the overall race time, whoever wins the Personal Challenge gets a winning certificate!

Pirate Fest returns to historic Lorenzi Park April 8th ,9th 10th. Pirate Fest is a unique festival including Pirates, Steampunk, Ren and Faerie characters. There will be live entertainment featuring Adam the Juggler, Pirate Parrot Show, Family Puppet Show; music, food, vendors, strolling characters, pirate games, activities, a beer garden and our Cardboard Regatta!!!   Free treasure map activities include making a rope; hoist the sails, walk the plank, and arts and crafts!  We have Pirate skill games for kids and adults that were originally designed, and are unique to Pirate Fest.  Dress up (not required… but encouraged!), come out and have fun!!!!!
